Wingspan: 32"      Power: .15      Controls: Full House

This is a perfect illustration of my tendency to misplace priorities by drawing what looks cool (to me) at the expense of aerodynamic considerations. I like the idea of a short-coupled, low-aspect-ratio canard with a long nose, and tried it once. Fantabulous #1 was a resounding failure (unless you consider 30 seconds of uncontrolled flight followed by a crash into a water treatment facility a success), and this one has all the makings of a spectacular follow-up disaster. If I really wanted to get serious about canards, I would spend some quality time with Andy Lennon's book - he seems to have a handle on this area of design.

Plans for the Fantabulous II are available. Click here for more info.
