Introducing the e-friendly Venture 60

The e-friendly Venture 60 kits feature:

Top-Quality Wood. The fuselage sides, doublers, and bottom parts are cut from balsa. This alone accounts for nearly ten ounces of weight savings. Combine this with the careful selection of the other parts, I estimate the total airframe weight to be a full pound less than the normal V60.

Taller, Longer Landing Gear to clear large props commonly used with electric motors.

Removable Top Hatch for battery access. Full-size plans and all pre-cut parts are provided.

Dual Aileron Servo Mounts are standard in the e-friendly V60.

I'm asking $159.95 for these kits. That's $10.00 over the normal price for a Venture 60 kit, but I think it's fair considering the premium wood selection, the custom landing gear, and the extra time required to develop the design changes and cut special parts. Wheel pant kits are still only $11.95 and shipping via UPS Ground in the US is $10.00.

In the interest of full-disclosure, you should know the e-friendly kits do not include a full decal set, only the Venture 60 logo and BTE logos in blue and white. It's also important that you understand the following:

DISCLAIMER - These kits have been produced using top-quality materials, sound engineering principles, and input from highly experienced electric modelers. However, BTE has not specifically built or tested the e-friendly version of the Venture 60. Builders must conduct flight testing in a safe and professional manner consistent with that of testing a completely new design.

Okay, I suppose that sounds a bit ominous, but I'm sure you get the point. The aerodynamics of the e-V60 remain unchanged, and it's proven itself over the past eleven years to be a smooth, graceful aerobatic model.

This isn't a product that will normally be in stock. Right now, the plan is to make a run of twelve e-V60s each time I do a full run of regular Ventures, which is about once a year.
